Telescopic Forklift Operator Certification (Levels 1, 2a, and 2b)
The training courses meet (depending on the level) the requirements of DGUV Guideline 308-009, 308-008, or DIN EN 1459-2.
Description
This Level 1 training course provides the theoretical and practical knowledge required for the safe operation of telescopic forklifts. The focus is on vehicle technology, the proper handling of loads, and the application of applicable occupational safety and accident prevention regulations. In addition, Level 2a qualifies participants to operate rotating upper structures, including crane operations, while Level 2b qualifies them to use the telescopic forklift as a work platform.

Level 1: Operator’s License
- DGUV Guideline 308-009, BetrSichV, and Occupational Safety
- Rights, Duties, and Responsibilities of Operators
- Rigid and Articulated Telescopic Forklifts
- Load capacity, center of gravity, and attachments
- Stability, driving operations, and load handling
- Risk assessment and safe work procedures
- Driving, maneuvering, and stacking exercises
- Safe operation of equipment under real-world conditions
Level 2a: Operation of rotating telescopic forklifts (DIN EN 1459-2)
- Safe operation of rotating telescopic forklifts with upper carriage rotation
- Load positioning, swivel movements, and crane operations
- Load capacity charts, stabilizer use, and safety-related operating procedures
Level 2b: Use as a work platform (DGUV Guideline 309-008)
- Safe work with personnel in the work basket
- Operating conditions, rescue procedures, and emergency measures
- Safety and protective devices, as well as practical operating exercises
Notes
- The program is offered throughout Germany in collaboration with qualified partner companies.
- The duration of the training depends on the participant’s prior knowledge and the selected certification level.
- The certification program includes both a theoretical and a practical component.
- Completion of the theoretical component is a prerequisite for participating in the practical component.
